So what is this thing? Please tell me more, man!

Schmidty’s Sweater Weather Soiree is the annual get together of my favorite group of dudes: My oldest friends from high school, new buddies from the ‘hood, fellow coaches and sports Dads, work peeps, familia, and everyone in between. Oh, and a few bad ass chicks for good measure.

My old man will be in town again. And in an effort to prove to him that I do in fact have friends, TONS of friends, the invite list will be in the thousands.

And what about last year’s soiree? I only remember that Mike West brought nothing and ate everything.

Wanna bring anything?

Last year everyone was really generous and brought a myriad of delicacies. I’ll list out some ideas of what you can bring, mostly inspired by last year. If you’d like to contribute, there’s a field on the RSVP form to let me know.

But other than your beverage of choice, don’t feel obligated to bring anything to eat! I’m sure we’ll have plenty of stuff to snack on.

I do ask that everyone bring their own folding chair, I definitely don’t have enough to go around. And let me be clear: your ass deserves a chair all to its own.

It’s a soiree designed for just the boys! That being said, if you must bring your lady friend, we can make that work. And yes, last year the only and only Rachel Novak made her appearance. She proceeded to drink each and every man under the table, while still keeping her shit together. And yes, I’m hoping she makes her appearance again this year.

The short answer is “YES!” You’ll definitely want to bring your own folding chair and beverage of choice. I’ll have a few fall-inspired cocktails and snacks, along with coolers with ice. And as soon as the RSVP form goes live I’ll add some ideas of what we could use, i.e. handhelds, snacks, drinks, desserts, etc.

Exact time TBD. But last year we started around 6ish and most fellas left around midnight.

Well, you’ll have me! Isn’t that enough?! I’ll post a guest list to this page as folks RSVP.

I’ll have 3-4 canopies set up, plus we have a decent sized gazebo, so we should be good! Most of y’all reading this have been banned from entering my house (per Carla’s request), but I can turn off the cameras that are scattered around the house. It’ll be our little secret.

If you keep up the sass, I will force everyone to participate in Halloween themed activities such as bobbing for apples, face painting, and playing ghost in the graveyard. We’ll have football playing, Halloween movies playing, and who knows – There may be some lazer tag involved at some point. Hmmmmm….
